Asus Eee PC 1004DN
Asus is ready with yet another novelty in the series of Asus Eee PC netbooks. This time it's a model that is somewhat different than we are accustomed to in the series of small notes, that the Asus Eee PC 1004DN.
It separates the Asus Eee PC 1004DN from eg Eee PC 1002HA or 1000HE is not the screen size, CPU or RAM - it is as we are accustomed to from everything from the Asus Eee PC 1000H for Asus Eee PC 1008HA - namely, 10 " screen, Intel Atom CPU at 1.6 Ghz (yes, there may be little difference in these Atoms - but performance is almost the same, here is an N280 model) - and with 1GB of RAM.
The contrast is the exciting new is that this netbook comes with optical drive and a brand new chipset: Intel GN40 with integrated graphics X4500M. Graphics should certainly be faster than the GMA950 graphics card, we know from almost all other netbooks, not least almost all Asus Eee PCs ..
Apparently, this graphics card be powerful enough to help the sluggish Atom CPUs enough to actually be pulled HD material. In practice I think really not many sit with HD material on their little machines, but it's always nice to have the opportunity - and not least, it is a good limit to have for how much a PC actually provides. And with this news one would therefore also have an Asus Eee PC, coming on the other side of "stroke".
Efteling reputed to have the Asus Eee PC 1004DN an excellent keyboard, which is the size 92% compared with a full keyboard, and layout MacBook-style, ie. with spaces between the keys. There is fingerprint reader, hviolket some business users will undoubtedly appreciate. The screen is of the dull kind - which many appreciate that glare so is not as big a problem. It is also extremely rare to see on the cheap laptop for whatever reason - but now we know no price yet. And it will be exciting! For the sufficiently low, this might appear to be a really good offer for a nice machine - the lack of optical drive (DVD drive) I have personally experienced have held more to buy a netbook .. But one might well fear that the price will be at the high end - and it will probably never be a great great success, as this is a netbook, as they, even with this improve existing chipsets and graphics cards never come up at the service, known from ordinary portable - and many just choose to live with dettem due to the low price. On the duck side there is also a good bunch that just use the netbook for something completely different than an ordinary. portable, but so is the issue of these ever need the DVD drive in their Eee PC .. my guess is that this is a fairly small niche ..
I predict also that the emergence of a 11.6-inch model up from this machine before too long - since it seems to be the new trend .. So we are approaching, however, probably even more a normal laptop - not only on price, but probably also unfortunately on form factor. Let's see ... we do not even know about this Eee PC or 11.6 "model emerging in this country yet ..
